Some stuff about me

Probably more information than you really wanted to know, but then thats what you get, sometimes. So, I figured I would write up a bunch of stuff here, include some pictures of family and friends, thoughts on whatever, links to pages with some of my interests and/or projects.. All the usual boring crap.

Lets start with how you got here.. No, not how you got on this planet. How you got here.. This page.. Better yet, how this page got here. I'm a programmer. RPG, specifically. Thats NOT "Role Playing Games" or some weapon designation. But, I'm not going into that.

I figure that since I'm a programmer, that also makes me a geek. Now, some people would argue that being a programmer does not mean that one automatically is a geek. Poppycock! I say that anyone crazy enough to spend all day writing code *has* to be a geek. There are other kinds of geeks, of course, but I'm refering to the computer variety.

Still here, eh? I do that sometimes.. Ramble on, you know.. Sorry. Oh yeah, this web page. Well, a while back I decided to try a web page. Seemed like the thing to do and being a geek I wanted to learn new geeky stuff. I wound up with a bunch of pages with all sorts of pictures and stuff and this page here with not a whole lot on it. It stayed that way for a long time. Then I added some links to other pages of mine but I still thought that I should do something else with it. So, this is it and here you are.

Yup.. I'm a programmer. I like it a lot, and someone actually pays me to do what I like. Cool.. And, I like Land Rovers.. a lot. What could be better for me than to work as a programmer for Land Rover? Oh, please don't throw me in that briar patch!

I work for Land Rover North America as a System Analyst in the Information Systems Department. We're an IBM AS/400 shop using code written in RPG.

One of these days I may actually decide to go independent with this AS/400 stuff.. So I've got this idea for a company called "Adirondack Consulting". The picture on the logo is of Nine Corner Lake in the Adirondack Park (in New York State). For now I've been dabbling in PC stuff and odds and ends. Some of the stuff I sell on E-Bay and I have the occasional sale out of my garage. Click on logo for more information.

Philosophy

This is where I really get to rattle on. Could be about anything, could be serious - or not. I'll let you decide. When you get right down to it, this whole series of web pages may tell you a lot.. Anyway, if you feel like reading just click on Mr Natural here..

I've got a couple of other pages of stuff out there in cyberspace. There are all sorts of odd things in the "Archives". Some of it you'll find linked to from other pages of mine. Mostly its just the odd idea that winds up as a web page.

I live on an old tobacco farm which prompted the "Things around the Farm" page. Its mainly pictures of things and events here in the local area.
